How do I choose the right horn for me?

Pick the horn that runs on a battery you already own.

Runs on your existing tool batteries — the same packs as your drill or impact driver. No new batteries to buy or throw away: cheaper for you, easier on the planet.

The brand changes nothing about the horn. Every horn uses the exact same internal and external parts — so a Quad is a Quad and a Dual is a Dual. They sound and perform identically across every battery brand; you give up zero sound or power.

No cordless tools yet? Go with DeWalt®, Milwaukee® or Ryobi® — they give you the widest range of tools to buy later on the very same batteries.

Which horn is the loudest?

Our loudest sit at the top — here's how the lineup ranks:

1. Boss Series — our newest (2026) and most refined; it reworks the older Extreme design and fixes its weak spots. Its older sibling, the Extreme Series, sits right alongside it.

2. Quad — four trumpets, big full sound.

3. Dual — the 2026 Dual shares the Boss design, and it's the one to pick if your battery brand isn't covered by the Boss Series yet.

Skip the 5-trumpet. The on-board compressor can't push enough air for all five trumpets, so it ends up thinner and higher-pitched than it should.

Do I need a drill — or does it come with one?

No drill needed — and none included.

Ships fully built and ready to use — nothing to assemble, no tools required.

The only thing you add is a battery — the same cordless-tool pack your drill already uses.

Snap it in, pull the trigger — and it roars in seconds.

Why these horns own the big-rig lot

  • 150 dB of freight-train tone that rolls across a packed truck stop or show field — cutting through idling diesels, shop compressors and a crowded lot.
  • Wireless remote up to 2,000 ft — fire a blast from inside the cab, across the yard or down the show field without standing over the horn.
  • Recharges off your drill battery — never dies mid-show, and there are no canisters to buy or refill, just the cordless pack you already carry.
  • Pre-built and grab-and-go — zero install, no compressor, no tapping your air system; it's ready before you roll into the lot.
  • Deep locomotive growl — real metal trumpets stack a low, diesel-grade note you feel as much as hear.

Built for the big-rig life

A freight-train blast that fits the trucker's world

Few sounds command a lot like a deep, locomotive-grade note rolling off a parked rig. This portable train horn for semi trucks and big rigs gives you that same chest-thumping blast in a grab-and-go kit you can keep right in the cab or the sleeper.

Pull up at a truck show, line up at the yard, or gather the convoy before you roll out — one trigger pull cuts straight through diesel idle, shop noise and a crowded lot. No air system to tap, no holes to drill: it runs on the same battery as your cordless tools.

Are train horns allowed on semi trucks and big rigs?

Be straight with this one: most states regulate aftermarket horns on public roads, and a 150 dB train horn is far louder than the factory-equivalent volume the law expects. Sounding it at traffic, pedestrians or in residential zones can draw noise-ordinance and equipment-violation tickets — that's not what this horn is for.

Where it belongs is the off-road, off-street side of trucking: truck shows and show-and-shines, the company yard or private terminal, a buddy's property, staging lanes, and open ground where a loud signal is welcome. Keep it as a grab-and-go novelty and signaling horn, not a road horn, and you stay on the right side of the rules.

Volume that travels the yard

How loud is a big-rig train horn — and how loud do you need?

Handheld air and train horns generally run from 110 to 150 decibels. The kits in this collection reach up to 150 dB — a deep freight-train note that carries clear across a packed truck stop, over idling diesels and shop compressors alike.

Use it responsibly. 150 dB is genuinely loud, so point the trumpets at open ground, never fire near anyone's ears, kids or pets, and keep to short bursts. The volume is the whole point — just aim it at open air, not the cab next to you.

How a drill-battery train horn works

There's nothing to wire into your truck. No compressor, no air tank, no tapping the rig's air system — and no holes drilled in your frame or bumper. Each kit uses an on-board air pump and real metal trumpets, so the whole unit is self-contained.

Power comes from a cordless-drill battery you likely already carry — compatible with Milwaukee® M18™, DeWalt® 20V MAX, Makita® 18V LXT®, Ryobi® ONE+® and more. Slide the pack into the base, pull the trigger, and it roars. Select models add a wireless remote that works from up to 2,000 ft, and when the battery runs low you recharge it exactly like your drill.

Choosing the right horn for your rig

Match the horn to how you'll use it around the truck:

  • Trumpet count. Single, dual and quad-trumpet kits stack the tone — more trumpets mean a fuller, richer blast.
  • Tone style. Go LOUDEST for maximum punch in an open lot, or LOW TONE for that deep diesel-and-locomotive growl.
  • Remote range. Long-range remote models trigger from up to 2,000 ft — handy across a big terminal or show field.
  • Battery brand. Pick the kit that matches the drill packs already in your toolbox so you're never hunting for power.
  • Grab-and-go. With no tank or compressor, it stows in the cab and recharges between hauls.

Before you roll out

Big-rig train horn checklist

  • Charge a battery the night before — the same packs that run your cordless tools.
  • Stow the horn and remote in the cab or sleeper, and test the trigger before you leave the yard.
  • Pick a blast zone — open ground, away from ears, kids and pets.
  • Know the rules — keep it to shows, yards and private property, not public roads.
  • Sound off on cue — rolling into the show, calling the convoy, or marking the win.

Semi truck & big rig train horns — FAQ

Where can I use a train horn for a semi truck or big rig?
On the off-road side of trucking: truck shows and show-and-shines, the company yard or private terminal, private property and open staging areas. Most states regulate aftermarket horns on public roads, so don't use it at traffic or in residential zones — treat it as a grab-and-go signaling and novelty horn, and check the venue or property rules first.
How loud is it?
These train-horn-style kits reach up to 150 dB — a deep, freight-train-grade blast that carries across a busy truck stop or show field, even over idling diesels and shop noise. Because it's that loud, aim the trumpets at open ground, keep them away from ears, kids and pets, and use short bursts.
Does it need a compressor or an air tank?
No. There's no compressor, no air tank and nothing to plumb into your truck's air system. Each horn has an on-board air pump and real metal trumpets, all powered by a cordless-drill battery — nothing to install, drill or wire into the rig.
Which drill batteries does it work with?
It runs on common cordless-drill packs — compatible with Milwaukee® M18™, DeWalt® 20V MAX, Makita® 18V LXT®, Ryobi® ONE+® and more. Pick the model that matches the batteries already in your toolbox and slide the pack into the base.
How far does the wireless remote reach?
Select models include a wireless remote that works from up to 2,000 ft, so you can set off a blast from inside the cab, across the yard or partway down the show field without standing over the horn.
Can I mount it permanently on my truck like a wired train horn?
These are built as portable, grab-and-go kits, not a permanent install — and that's the point. There's no compressor or tank to bolt in and nothing to tap into your air system. You keep it in the cab or sleeper, slide in a battery when you want it, and pull it back out, so there's no frame drilling or wiring to undo.
Is 150 dB safe to use?
150 dB is seriously loud, so treat it like a real signal device. Point the trumpets toward open ground, never fire it near anyone's ears, kids or pets, and stick to short bursts. The volume is the point — just aim it at open air, not the next cab over.
How do I recharge it?
Recharge it exactly like your drill. When the cordless-drill battery in the base runs low, pop it out and charge it on your normal charger — there are no air canisters to buy or refill, which keeps it ready whenever you're rolling.
How fast does it ship?
Orders placed before 2 PM PT ship the same business day, so you can have your horn in the cab before your next haul or show.
