How do I choose the right horn for me?

Pick the horn that runs on a battery you already own.

Runs on your existing tool batteries — the same packs as your drill or impact driver. No new batteries to buy or throw away: cheaper for you, easier on the planet.

The brand changes nothing about the horn. Every horn uses the exact same internal and external parts — so a Quad is a Quad and a Dual is a Dual. They sound and perform identically across every battery brand; you give up zero sound or power.

No cordless tools yet? Go with DeWalt®, Milwaukee® or Ryobi® — they give you the widest range of tools to buy later on the very same batteries.

Which horn is the loudest?

Our loudest sit at the top — here's how the lineup ranks:

1. Boss Series — our newest (2026) and most refined; it reworks the older Extreme design and fixes its weak spots. Its older sibling, the Extreme Series, sits right alongside it.

2. Quad — four trumpets, big full sound.

3. Dual — the 2026 Dual shares the Boss design, and it's the one to pick if your battery brand isn't covered by the Boss Series yet.

Skip the 5-trumpet. The on-board compressor can't push enough air for all five trumpets, so it ends up thinner and higher-pitched than it should.

Do I need a drill — or does it come with one?

No drill needed — and none included.

Ships fully built and ready to use — nothing to assemble, no tools required.

The only thing you add is a battery — the same cordless-tool pack your drill already uses.

Snap it in, pull the trigger — and it roars in seconds.

Why these horns own bracket day

  • 150 dB that cuts across every board — one blast reaches the far lanes and the snack table at once, even over a packed park.
  • Wireless remote up to 2,000 ft — start and stop rounds from the scorer's table without shouting down a forty-board field.
  • Recharges off your drill battery — never dies between matches, and there are no disposable cans to keep buying all season.
  • Pre-built and grab-and-go — zero install, ready before the first bag flies; it lives in your gear bag next to the boards.
  • Deep freight-train tone — a low, unmistakable horn players actually stop for, so rounds start clean and on time.

Set the pace of the bracket

One blast that runs your whole tournament

A cornhole bracket lives and dies on timing — rounds need to start together, lanes need to clear, and the next match needs to get moving. A train-horn-style air horn gives you one sound that does all of it. No whistle a player two lanes over can't hear, no cupping your hands and yelling across the field.

Pull it to kick off the round. Pull it again when the timer's up. And let it roar the moment someone slides four bags in the hole for the win — the kind of blast that turns a backyard bracket into a real event.

Know before you blow

Are air horns allowed for cornhole tournaments?

Mostly yes — because cornhole tournaments run where these horns belong: open backyards, driveways, parks, brewery patios, tailgate lots and campgrounds. That's the legitimate home for a 150 dB horn, and using one to signal rounds is a real, useful job.

Two honest caveats. If you're playing an indoor league in a bar, gym or rec hall, skip the blast indoors — a horn this loud is built for open air, not a closed room. And sanctioned circuits like the ACL run their own officials and signaling, so a personal horn is a backyard-and-club tool, not something to fire on a pro court. Check with the host first, and keep it outdoors.

Loud enough to land

How much horn does a cornhole field need?

Handheld air horns generally run 110 to 150 dB. The kits in this collection reach up to 150 dB — a deep, carrying blast that travels across a forty-board field and over the music and chatter of a busy tournament without you straining.

Use it responsibly. 150 dB is genuinely loud, so aim the trumpets at open space and away from people, never blast near a player's ears, kids or pets, and keep it to short bursts. You only need one good pull to start a round — not a five-second hold.

No tank, no compressor

How a drill-battery air horn works

There's no compressor, no air tank and no vehicle wiring here. An on-board air pump feeds real metal trumpets, so the whole unit is self-contained and ready to grab.

It runs on the cordless-drill battery you probably already have in the garage — slide it into the base (compatible with Milwaukee® M18™, DeWalt® 20V MAX, Makita® 18V LXT® and Ryobi® ONE+® packs, and more), and pull the trigger. Select models add a remote that works from up to 2,000 ft, so the scorer can fire it from the table while you're across the field. When the pack runs low, recharge it exactly like your drill battery and get back to the bracket.

Match it to your event

Choosing the right horn for your bracket

A weekend backyard double-elimination and a hundred-player charity tournament don't need the same horn. Here's how to match one to your day:

  • Trumpet count. Single, dual and quad-trumpet kits stack the tone — more trumpets give a fuller, richer round-start blast.
  • Tone style. Pick a LOUDEST trumpet setup for maximum cut across a big field, or LOW TONE for that deep, locomotive growl.
  • Remote range. Remote-equipped models fire from up to 2,000 ft — ideal for running rounds from a central scorer's table.
  • Battery brand match. Choose the model that fits the drill batteries you already own, so you're never hunting for a charged pack mid-bracket.
  • Grab-and-go. With no tank or compressor, it packs flat with your boards and bags and recharges between events.

Run-of-show

Your cornhole tournament horn checklist

  • Charge the battery the night before — the same packs that power your cordless drill.
  • Stage the horn at the scorer's table and test the remote across the field before players arrive.
  • Brief your players on the signals: one blast to start, one to call time, a long one for the championship.
  • Pick a blast direction — point it at open space, away from ears, kids and pets.
  • Confirm with the host or venue that an outdoor horn is welcome, then keep every blast outdoors.

Cornhole tournament air horns — FAQ

Can I use an air horn at a cornhole tournament?
For outdoor tournaments — backyards, parks, driveways, brewery patios, tailgate lots and campgrounds — yes, and it's a genuinely useful way to start rounds, call time and mark winners. Keep it out of indoor bar and gym leagues, and ask the host first; sanctioned circuits like the ACL handle their own signaling on the court.
How loud is the air horn?
These train-horn-style air horns reach up to 150 dB — a deep blast that carries across a full field and over tournament noise. Use it responsibly: aim at open space, away from ears, kids and pets, and stick to short bursts.
Does it need a compressor or air tank?
No. There's no compressor, no air tank and no wiring. An on-board air pump drives real metal trumpets, and a cordless-drill battery powers the whole thing, so it's completely grab-and-go.
Which drill batteries does it work with?
It runs on common cordless-drill packs, including Milwaukee® M18™, DeWalt® 20V MAX, Makita® 18V LXT® and Ryobi® ONE+®, and more. Pick the model that matches the batteries you already own and slide one in.
How far does the remote reach?
Select models include a wireless remote that works from up to 2,000 ft — far enough to run rounds from a central scorer's table while the horn sits across a large field.
Can I use it to signal the start and end of rounds?
Yes — that's exactly what it's great for. One blast to start the round, one to call time, and a long one to crown the champions. The remote lets a single official run the whole bracket without shouting across lanes.
Is 150 dB safe to use around people?
It's safe when you use it sensibly. Point the trumpets at open space and away from anyone, never fire it close to a player's ears or near small kids and pets, and keep blasts short. A single quick pull is all you need to signal a round.
How do I recharge it?
Recharge the cordless-drill battery just like you would for your drill, using its normal charger. Bring a charged spare pack to a long tournament day and you'll never run out of horn between matches.
How fast does it ship?
Orders placed before 2 PM PT ship the same business day, so your horn is ready well before tournament day.
