Lines in, fire it up
One blast that starts the whole tournament
Nothing sets a tournament in motion like a single deep blast rolling across the water at first light. A train-horn-style air horn gives the director one unmistakable signal that every boat in every flight hears the same instant — the official go.
Hit it to release the first flight off the ramp, again as each numbered flight is cleared to run, and once more to open the scales at weigh-in. One pull cuts straight through idling outboards, trolling-motor hum and morning chatter so nobody jumps early and nobody misses their start.
